“Falling for You” (a rom-com)  is a direct extension of Target’s fall marketing campaign and allows viewers to shop product like never before. The film will be released in three five-minute episodes on Oct. 2, Oct. 4 and Oct. 9 at Target.com/FallingforYou and will remain online through Oct. 31 for viewers to interact with and shop, while supplies last. The film culminates with a special live performance event on Oct. 10 which will be streamed live on the website as well.

“Target has a long history of creating marketing strategies that push boundaries and generate memorable moments in time,” said Shawn Gensch, senior vice president of marketing for Target. “With “Falling for You,” for the first-time ever we created a captivating and energetic experience that allows Target’s guests an opportunity to interact with our product in an entirely new way,” he said.

As a communications student who dabbled in video for several years and a major shopaholic this project excites me so much. Gone are the days when we troll the internet for hours trying to find our what brand our favorite movie heroine is wearing or wear Cameron Diaz got all those great coats in "The Holiday" (yes, I am obsessed). This short could be the start of something bigger, a future where you can shop a movie. My friends, that is a world I want to live in.

Below is the trailer to this charming short. I hope you check it out and enjoy the idea as much as I do!
