I love fashion for a cause. I also love scarves. There is something wonderful about waking up once the temperature drops a bit and toping a fabulous outfit off with something silky. Unfortunately chic scarves are sometimes hard to come by. Twitting though Twitter one day I came across the LOV Project. Having a strong history working with charities and causes I clicked on their website and was pleasantly surprised by beautiful, handmade, silk scarves. So what was this project and why do they sell such amazing accessories?

"LOV" stands for Live One Vision. The vision is a fair-trade company that creates one of a kind handmade organic scarves, made in the southern regions of India. The techniques used to create the scarves are in the natural dye process and fabrics used. The artisans that hand make each scarf come from impoverished backgrounds and most have an unfortunate physical disability. The program was started by two women on a mission to make life more bearable for those of less fortune in this vast and ever changing world. Their symbol is a bird, which stands for change and prosperity. The project has become a grassroots movement to bring the freedom of a bird and the breath of its wing span into the daily lives of women and children.

While the ladies don't sell their scarves on their website, you can buy them online at
shoprumor. My absolute favorite is the
Tindha Silk Scarf. It's blends of black, raspberry and pink makes it perfect for my everyday use. This scarf features a clasp print and like all LOV scarves, 14K plated gold charms hanging from the two ends. My second favorite is the
Cosmic Print which is made in a black orchid color with metallic detailing.
Both of these scarves retail for $85 and are so worth it.
My favorite thing about scarves in the many ways that you can wear them. Thanks to the LOV Project Facebook page, you don't need to ponder how to tie your silk scarf because they made this for you. I hope you find this useful and chose to wrap yourself up in LOV this fall.
