Cheaper than a Sample Sale & Just a Bit Off the Beaten Track

A little over a year ago there were some changes at the barely noticed and rarely acknowledged Lord & Taylor warehouse in Wilkes-Barre, PA. These changes got a bit more attention when they had a tent sale. They had opened up a store in the front of the warehouse, selling left over pieces of designer garb that had either been forgotten about or ordered in a plenty for no demand.

The store is literally in the shipping warehouse and yes, this means what you think it means. You might as well just bring a pair of ear plugs into this store because after fifteen to twenty minutes you will have a killer headache. A killer headache, but also some major fashion finds. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by every girl's best friend, racks and racks of designer shoes at a discount. While they may not have Louboutins or Manolos, they do have stylish kicks of seasons past in various colors and styles at steep discounts.

The last time I was in the shoe section of the store, a woman approached my friend Amy and asked if she had a calculator so she could figure out the discount on a totally rocking pair of pumps she was holding in her hands. As Amy punched the numbers into her cell phone, the woman explained that the shoes were originally supposed to be upward of $500 and that she adored them but would never be able to spend that kind of cash on a pair of shoes. "My husband would kill me," she said. Once the discounts were taken off though, the shoes were somewhere around $45. Needless to say she was thrilled.

These Nanette Lapore flats, my latest find, are perfect for springtime and had a perfect price to match. They were a mere $30.

A find that any woman can appreciate.

After you wander past the racks of shoes, you enter denim territory. Citizens, Hudsons and 7s oh my is right! Normally retailing for around $200 for a pair of 7 For All Mankind Dojo Trouser jeans, at the warehouse you can find them for under a hundred dollars. Perfect for the person who might be struggling to look fly and make rent that month.

Still this price tag may just be a bit too steep for some, then you can mosey on over to the section of uber cheap clothing, generally marked under five dollars. Here's the thing with the Lord & Taylor clearance warehouse store, almost everything in the store has a colored sticker on the price tag which denotes an additional discount. Often with these discounts, the clothing gets to be cheaper than it would have been on Ruelala.

Where else would you be able to find a Design History dress resembling that of Kate Middleton for just $35?

They literally have a little something for everyone. In the back of the store you can find menswear, children's clothing can be found behind shoes on the right side wall. Accessories are located in front of the cash registers as well as hanging on racks near the left side wall.

The best thing about the warehouse though, the fact that overtime you leave you have money left over to shop elsewhere as well as a great, fashionable find in you bag.
