The Fashion Forecast: Once the ground thaws, fashion is all about being bold and bright. It has been my observation that the biggest fashion trend this season is color-blocked everything. The thing about color-blocking is that you can use a variety of colors to make this widely used trend, uniquely you. Black and white becomes classic, a range of neons jumps off the cloth and makes you bold and bright while navy blues and kelly green allow you to be perfectly preppy.

color-blocking this summer and stay chic in a top and skirt combo. Color-blocking
is my favorite trend to wear this season. I think that the reason I
love it so much is because it is so versatile.
What
is so great about color-blocking is that it is a trend that you can mix
with other trends. I found great nude, coral and white pumps that can be
worn with almost anything. Unlike other trends that, if mixed, would overpower the wearer, color-blocking is subtle.

Build your outfit from the bottom, up. Find yourself a great pair of color-blocked pumps and work from there. I found these kate spade 'Stella' heels for sale online for $328.00. Once you have yourself a happy pair of heels work your way up. I decided that the perfect skirt to wear with these shoes would have to be casual in nature but bright in tone.

The skirt is knee length so it is perfectly appropriate to wear just about anywhere and the fabric is a light cotton blend. The higher-set waist keeps it looking all the more chic and the color really stands out in a crowd.

I adore the bottom half of this outfit and given the boldness of the colors and the statement being made, a simple top is the way to go. This is a summer outfit so a light and airy white top is just the piece needed.
I found several options that would work well depending on your style and budget but feel that this Alice + Olivia silk top with cropped, sheer sleeves is the best choice.
