Move Over Fergie, The Real Duchess Has Landed

The style of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is in a word impeccable. Kate's minimalist ensembles and simplified hair and makeup are ushering in a new era of fashion where it is socially acceptable to wear the same thing twice and pantyhose might just be alright to wear when showing off some leg.

The recently concluded North American tour was more than enough to push Kate from a well dressed royal to an all out fashion icon. Wearing designs from fashion houses in England, Canada and the United States made every choice perfection. A personal favorite was the cream Joseph dress paired with a pale pink tweed jacket. The look is timeless and exudes a comfortable confidence that only a princess could have.

While the Duchess and her prince mingled with celebrities in Los Angeles she also took time to look fabulous with those in a more difficult socioeconomic situation wearing an outfit that almost anyone can afford. Continuing to turn the fashion world upside-down, Middleton enjoys rocking pieces from more everyday UK stores such as Warehouse and Whistles which she buys on her own without a stylist in-tow.

This outfit from Whistles was worn to the royal couples visit to inner-city children on Skid Row.

Luckily for the rest of the world, Middleton-fever has sparked a strong response from brands looking to quickly reproduce Kate's effortless styles for a fraction of the cost, allowing the everywoman to feel like royalty.  Within days of the North American tour concluding several of the look-a-like looks had already sold out online.

Fashionjunkie.com has several of these ode-to outfits for various celebrity hits. Their version of Middleton's purple Issa frock retails on their site for $50.00 and comes in five different colors. While the purple version is currently on back-order, the green is just as nice and can easily be dressed up or down depending on how you decide to accessorize.

On the ASOS webstore a dress appeared for the small amount of $60.34 looking strikingly similar to the cream Joseph dress I so adored. The ASOS Midi Dress with Soft Skirt comes in Cream and Cashew and is perfection belted or paired with a blazer for a look more similar to that of Kate. The highlight of this site is that their shipping is free both ways. The downside is that like the fashionjukie dress, the Asos dress is currently sold out in various sizes.

Kate and Will's tour may be over, but the styles she has inspired are sure to carry me through the remainder of the summer and with some minor tweaking can be just as successful for the fall.
